Businesses- watch out! Possible scam artist alert!

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is suing a Florida-based company suspected to be scam artists targeting Michigan small business owners! AG Schuette filed a lawsuit on August 27, 2015 to prevent Division of Corporate Services Inc. and its officers from any further operations in Michigan, after allegations of deceitful business practices designed to dupe small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Among other things, the lawsuit alleges that the company sent misleading mailings designed to look like an official state form that corporate representatives are required to complete annually in order to keep their business in good standing. Recipients were asked to complete and return the form with payment to a Lansing address.
