As a result of a US Supreme Court decision, a Federal Court judge in Grand Rapids rules that Autocam, a company owned by a Roman Catholic who opposes contraception and abortion, is not required to provide employee health insurance for birth control. A number of other Michigan companies brought suit in Michigan or Washington, D.C. challenging a federal regulation requiring employer coverage for certain approved birth controls.
Essentially, some private employers can avoid the contraception requirement in the Affordable Care Act. What are your thoughts?
